First Steps to Fog of War Implementation
I have been working on fog of war for a few hours, rearranging a few things in the engine so that it can be carried out correctly.
Right now, the only patches that are drawn are the ones that the mouse goes over. I am gonna work on making the units not appear. No enemy units or resources will appear until the player's unit is close enough. I am currently debating on whether I will just make the entire terrain a black color, or if I will just do a technique like I have here. The way I am currently considering drawing the terrain could lead to issues due its rugged apperance (shown here). However, one thing that it has over making the whole terrain a black color is that it could lead to performance increases, so I might just allow the player to choose whether they prefer speed or appearance in the video settings.
For tomorrow, I am planning on checking out some other RTS games and seeing what techniques they used.

I made the explosions bigger. You can have smaller explosions depending on what is blowing up, but they are capable of being much larger now.
